About Our Club

Our Aims
- To create an environment where new and existing members can receive informal, personal and ‘hands-on’ woodturning tuition.
- To provide a venue where members can discuss all woodturning issues.
- To provide demonstrations, presentations and advice as and when members require.

What We Do
Visitors, even those of you just mildly curious, and members from other regions are more than welcome to come along to any of our meetings.
You will enjoy the company, make new friends and be encouraged to ask plenty of questions.
Members are encouraged to bring timber and tools and, under guidance if required, work on their projects.
The club supplies timber and tools for those members who do not yet have their own.
We have recently been registered by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

Where We Meet
Our meetings are held at the Menai Men’s Shed, at Barden’s Ridge.
We have two meetings per month, normally on the 2nd Tuesday, at 4.00 pm and the 4th Tuesday at 6.00 pm. See the below calendar.
The first monthly meeting is when we judge our monthly challenge items and discuss methods of producing the item and doing demonstrations of new techniques.
The second meeting is a “all hands” on meeting where personel training can take place.
The Menai Men’s Shed workshop has 4 Wood lathes, complete with tools, various chucks and faceplates.
This equipment is supplemented with the region’s Teknatool Comet lathe, which has its own tools and accessories.
If you would like to continue using this equipment during the day it would be advisable to also join the Menai Men’s Shed
